Former Republican President Candidate Dr. Ben Carson revealed
the quid pro quo reason he endorsed GOP Candidate Donald J. Trump
Remember when Republican Presidential Candidate and National Embarrassment – Donald J. Trump boasted “Gifted Hands” author – and former GOP Candidate Dr. Ben Carson was a “okay” doctor?
Now, Dr. Carson recent statements on why he endorsed Trump so quickly after dropping out of the Republican Presidential race, proves neither Carson or Trump deserve to be candidates for United States Leader of the Free World – at all.
According to Think Progress, former GOP Presidential Candidate Ben Carson was offered a position in the Donald J. Trump administration if Trump is elected President of the United States – similar to a quid pro quo.
“I didn’t see a path for Kasich, who I like, or for Rubio, who I like. As far as Cruz is concerned, I don’t think he’s gonna be able to draw independents and Democrats unless has has some kind of miraculous change,” said Dr. Ben Carson to Think Progress on why he supported Donald Trump candidacy for President.
“Is there another scenario that I would have preferred? Yes. But that scenario isn’t available.”
Next, Carson revealed what exactly he was promised for supporting New York Businessman and GOP Presidential Candidate, Trump
Carson then said that Trump had promised him a role in his administration, “certainly in an advisory capacity.” Asked by NewsMax’s Steve Malzberg whether this meant a cabinet position, Carson declined to “reveal any details about it right now, because all of this is still very liquid.”
What is obvious is that neither Trump or Carson approved this statement to be made in advance past the lawyer, former U.S. Attorney and now Governor of New Jersey Chris Christie – who is now supporting rather strongly himself, Donald J. Trump.
Because if they did, one would think Gov. Christie knowledge of the United States Criminal Code – would let Trump and Carson knew promising a person openly a position in the Federal Government for their support is, illegal under 18 U.S. Code § 599.
“Whoever, being a candidate, directly or indirectly promises or pledges the appointment, or the use of his influence or support for the appointment of any person to any public or private position or employment, for the purpose of procuring support in his candidacy shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both; and if the violation was willful, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both,” quoted by the Legal Information Institute.
(June 25, 1948, ch. 645, 62 Stat. 721; Pub. L. 103–322, title XXXIII, § 330016(1)(H), (L), Sept. 13, 1994, 108 Stat. 2147.)
Will the Federal Election Commission step in to investigate Dr. Carson’s “slip of the tongue”. Should Donald J. Trump be immediately disqualified for being on a General Election ballot anywhere in the United States as a result of not only breaking election rules but likely committing a felony if Carson’s statement can be proven true?
One only knows but it certainly appears if the Mainstream Media resources that who have been given Trump plenty of free air time covering his speeches, rallies and the violence associated with his candidacy want to be “fair and balance” – they should equally focus their rather hyperactive attention lens right towards what could be a very illegal election act – in Carson’s endorsement of Trump.
