He Came, He Saw, He Listened and He Won! U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders Won The Michigan Primary!
Congratulations to the team and candidate Bernie Sanders for a well-fought win in Michigan.
Independent Underground News & Talk, the Largest Independently-Affiliated African-American owned and operated blog/podcast in Michigan, endorsed Senator Bernie Sanders to win the State Primary.
Various media sources claimed Senator Sanders was down upwards of 27% in Michigan up to Sunday, March 6, in complete error including the Detroit Free Press.
“The poll, done for the Free Press, WXYZ-TV (Channel 7) and their outstate polling partners, shows Clinton with a 56%-31% margin over Sanders, a U.S. senator from Vermont.
Even that numerical advantage doesn’t fully convey the strength of her candidacy among Democratic primary voters in Michigan, however, given that she has leads among most demographic groups of age, income, race and geography in the state.” The Detroit Free Press claimed in utter error on Saturday, March 5.
With 93% of the results tallied according to MLive Media Group, Senator Sanders won a first test in for the battle of the Midwest, with Sanders receiving 546,68 or 50% of the vote to Hillary Clinton’s 523,820 or 48%.
In Michigan, it came down to the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), the threat of the Trans-Pacific Trade Partnership and Hillary Clinton’s downright unacceptable position on “Regulated Fracking”.
Unlike the narrative from Mainstream “So-Called” Media Sources CNN and MSNBC, Michigan Primary is a Proportional Primary State with the breakdown tally from “The Green Papers” as followed:
“85 district delegates are to be allocated proportionally to presidential contenders based on the results in each of the State’s 14 congressional districts.
In addition, 45 delegates are to be allocated to presidential contenders based on the primary vote statewide.
28 at-large National Convention delegates.
17 Pledged PLEOs.”
The 28 at-larged National Convention delegates in Michigan normally pledge with the winner of Michigan’s Primary – which Senator Sanders won. Lastly the 17 pledged or “Super-Delegates” can either be allocated to Senator Sanders or Hillary Clinton.
Noting the above, Senator Sanders should receive the overwhelming majority of total delegate count in Michigan with his win.
