Ways To Help Distribute Clean Water to Flint’s Residents, as the City
remains under a State of Emergency with Lead and Other Toxins in the
UPDATE 1/9/2016 at 4:29 pm ET: Our resource, Independent Underground News & Talk. obtained a Press Release from the State of Michigan’s – Joint Operations Center – detailing resources will be deployed to Flint residents for Clean Water, Filter and other materials relating to Flint’s Water Crisis.

There are a number of Michigan based organizations that are working to provide clean water, connections to water filters, fundraising efforts and more Flint Residents.
Here’s a round up of groups, non-profits, organizations and individuals seeking to truly help the People of Flint:
A Flint, Michigan based Clean Water Activist Group ran by Melissa Mays. Ms. Mays organization is working with Flint, Michigan’s Mayor Karen Weaver’s task force to address
the long-term health, water and infrastructural needs for the City’s residents.

Water You Fighting For? is also organizing bottle water drives deliver clean water to Citizens in Flint.
2). We The People of Detroit
A Detroit, Michigan based Clean Water and Resource Activist Group ran by Monica Lewis Patrick and Debra Taylor. Ms. Lewis-Patrick and Taylor’s organization, presented a Flint

Healing Stories Symposium in March of 2015 were residents of Flint described the difficulties during the conference, with clean water access, crime, transportation resources and more.
We The People of Detroit recently partnered with the Detroit Light Brigade Organization to Deliver and other coordination resources to deliver upwards of 9000 cases of bottle water to Flint.
3). Missions of Hope
As highlighted recently on MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow Show, Mission of Hope Non-Profit,

ran by Pastor Bobby Jackson in Flint, Michigan, are taking donations to provide clean water bottles to the City’s Residents.
The organization also operates a daytime warming center and other basic services to Flint’s homeless, poor, mentally ill as well as hard to serve adults.
4). The Food Bank of Central Michigan (TFBCM)
Is working as a central connection point to distribute water bottles to the People of Flint, Michigan.
According to the Organization website the TFBCM , “….

Provides over 21 million pounds of food each year to those in need through more than 415 partner agencies. In 2012, the Food Bank experienced a 12% increase in pounds distributed to partners,” as well as has the storage capability to handle large bottle water donations for Flint Residents.
5). Bottles for the Babies
An Activist Organization ran by Flint Resident Lanice Lawson that has raised over $21,000 via a Go Fund Me site to distribute clean bottle water to City Residents. More on Ms. Lawson’s group can be found on this site.
6). Detroiters Resisting Emergency Management (D-REM)
A Non-Profit Educational Symposium and Activist Resource partnering upwards of 30

other Activists Groups, including We The People of Detroit.
D-REM is hosting two “Teach In” and People’s Tribunal Round Events on Saturday, January 16 and January 23 about the impact on denial of Clean Water Access in Flint and Detroit, Michigan. The Teach-In and People’s Tribunal are free and open to the Public, plus donations both Flint’s and Detroit Residents Clean Water Access will be coordinated at both events.

amount of time as the highest elected official in Flint, Mayor Weaver and her team have been steadfast focus on ensuring Flint Residents receive the resources necessary for Clean Water Access in the City.
Including rightfully declaring the City under a “State of Emergency” in her first 30 days in office – to effectively deal with Flint’s Water Crisis.
