Progress-Flint, Dan Kildee announced
he will run for open Congressional
seat for the 5th district.
Flint Democrat Dan Kildee will run for the U.S. House seat held by his uncle Congressman Dale Kildee (D-MI-5th District). Rep. Kildee announced in July he would not run for re-election after 18 terms in the House.
“I’m announcing today and I will seek the Democratic nomination for Congress for the 5th district. I grew up in the area, grew up in Flint, know Flint, Bay City and Saginaw really well,” Dan Kildee stated on the First Shift program.
“(I) know the people and understand the problems that they face and I am anxious to get started. I anxious to not just get through this campaign but to take office in Washington and fight for the people of this area,” Dan Kildee replied.
