events include a fundraising effort
at the Magic Bag in Ferndale.
The Committee to Recall Governor Rick Snyder (CTRGRS) is in “Full-Stream Ahead” mode, regardless of what was written in the Detroit News on July 25th and 26th.
Taking actions to coordinate resources, confirms the strategy required for a successful effort to recall Governor Rick Snyder (R) outlined in the Ann Arbor News on April 2nd.
Reach Out Job Search News writer Monica RW obtained a EXCLUSIVE interview on July 26th with CTRGRS Chairperson Marion Townsend counteracting the allegations in made the Detroit News. The discussion confirmed that instead of the grassroots campaign “being on it’s last legs”, an opposite is true.
On July 27th, CTRGRS along with non-profit group Michigan Forward, announced a partnership, in an effort to coordinate strategies.
Jointly, both organizations will collect signatures and share resources in effort to Recall Governor Rick Snyder and place a state-wide Constitutional Referendum vote on the ballot to repeal Public Act #4, known as the Emergency Financial Manager Act.
The following statement was issued by Michigan Forward on July 27th, regarding the coordination of resources with CTRGRS:
“The passage of Public Act 4 is one of the most egregious pieces of legislation crafted in Michigan’s history. Having CTRGRS partnering with us to repeal this legislation turns this from a campaign to a movement.” says Brandon Jessup Chairman and CEO of Michigan Forward and Chairman of Stand Up for Democracy.
“Michigan voters sent a clear message earlier this month. A majority of voters polled would vote to repeal Public Act 4. This unfunded mandate on Michigan residents is only part of the problem. We need legislators that will draft policy for Michigan’s progress not our detriment.”
The Committee to Recall Governor Rick Snyder, issued this statement on the effort:
“The Committee to Recall (Governor) Rick Snyder (CRTGRS) is thrilled that this partnership has been formed,” says the leadership team of CTRGRS.
“CTRGRS, a PAC, is a grassroots non-partisan organization of concerned citizens from across Michigan that has so far distributed over 240,000 petitions in an effort to recall Governor Snyder and assisted in the recall campaigns of numerous House Representatives and Senators,” they cited.
“It makes sense for these two forces to team up and forge a strong relationship that we believe will serve the citizens of Michigan well,” they said.
In addition, CTRGRS has a series of “Rock The Recall” events leading up to August 5th, including the “Recall Rick Snyder Benefit Concert” at the Magic Bag in Ferndale, Michigan on Friday, July 29th, beginning at 8PM EST. There is a $10.00 cover charge that will go towards the fundraising efforts of the Political Action Committee (PAC).
On Sunday, July 31st a “Jam for Democracy” concert will take place at the Orbit Room-2525 Lake Eastbrook Blvd. SE, Grand Rapids, Michigan. This event is free and five local bands will entertain the audience with live music.
Other events that will take place throughout the week are located on the CTRGRS-FireRickSnyder.Org webpage.
