(Washington, D.C.)-After days of neither confirming or denying if he sent questionable pictures from a Twitter account, Representative Anthony Weiner (D-NY) confessed on Monday, June 6th that he indeed, sent the communications.
Congressman Weiner tweeted a bulging-underpants photo of him to a young woman and admitted to ‘inappropriate’ exchanges with six women before and, after getting married. He apologized for initial lying about the picture but, said vehemently stated he would not resign at a news conference Monday afternoon.
BigGovernment.com, a Conservative website managed by ran by Andrew Breitbard, started a furor stating a lewd photo was sent from Weiner’s Twitter. In addition, Beithard’s website posted new photos Monday purportedly from a second woman who said she received shirtless shots of the congressman. At the Monday news conference, Weiner called the initial underpants photo a joke and a “hugely regrettable mistake.”
Breithard went on the record with a reporter from MSNBC news the morning of June 3rd, stating the new photo was in a cache of intimate online photographs, internet chats and email exchanges the woman claimed to have that could be of Congressman Weiner. He did not identify the woman, and it could not immediately be determined if the photo was authentic.

Another photo showed Weiner on a couch with two cats nearby. The website said Weiner sent the photo using the e-mail anthonyweiner(at)aol.com account with the subject line ‘Me and the pussys’.
Celebrity gossip site RadarOnline.com said a woman claimed to have 200 sexually explicit messages from Weiner through a Facebook account that Representative Weiner no longer uses. It was not clear whether the woman, who claimed to have the new photo, was the same person who claimed to have received the text messages.
In a strange turn before Weiner’s planned news conference, Breitbart took to the same podium, defending the accuracy of his posts and saying his reputation was being smeared by the congressman.
The photo purportedly showing Weiner shirtless was reminiscent of a photo of Representative Chris Lee (Fr. R-NY) who resigned from office earlier February 2011 after a questionable shirtless photo he sent a woman on Craigslist.com became public.
Weiner had claimed last week in numerous interviews that the underwear photo supposedly sent from his Twitter account was hacked into. The Congressman also stated that he hired a lawyer and a private security firm to get to investigate the underwear shot. Still Rep. Weiner would not say to any reporter, on the record, that underwear photo wasn’t an image of him.
Weiner, 46, married Hillary Rodham Clinton aide Huma Abedin in July 2010, with former President Bill Clinton officiating. Prior to his marriage, Weiner had been known as one of New York’s most eligible bachelors according to WXYZ.com in Detroit.
Weiner began his career as a legislative assistant to then Representative Chuck Schumer, who is now New York’s senior senator. He was elected to the New York City Council before winning Schumer’s House seat in 1998, representing parts of Brooklyn and Queens.
He gained a national profile during the debate over President Barack Obama’s health care plan when he outspokenly professed support for a government-run “single-payer” program for everyone and/or “public option” to compete with private health insurance. Both of his proposals failed to make it into law, within negotiations the Obama administration made with Republicans leadership in the House and Senate.
